Psalm 16.
Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I say the the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”
As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight.
The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names on my lips.
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,
or let your hold one see corruption.
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
God, I look to you.
God I look to You, I won’t be overwhelmed
give me vision to see things like You do
God I look to You, You’re where my help comes from
give me wisdom, You know just what to do
I will love You Lord my strength
I will love You Lord my shield
I will love You Lord my rock
forever all my days I will love You God
Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns
forever all my days Hallelujah
Our Doors Are Too Small
I used to think that when God closes one door, he’d open another. But now I know that God’s dreams can’t fit through our measly doors. Sometimes he has to kick down a wall for us to go on a great adventure.
"Think about it. A woman who has truly denied herself, taken up her cross, and become entirely consumed with Jesus Christ is not going to be an insecure young woman, starving herself and obsessed with making herself look more attractive. Rather, she’s so enraptured with Jesus Christ that she’s completely lost sight of herself."
I have such a heart for women to know who they are in Christ, to seek their identity in Him before anything else in this world. It is my hope that every woman knows the value and worth that was given to her. Being a daughter of Christ is such a wonderful thing and my prayer is that every woman whether single or married, every teenage girl, every child knows this deep down in her heart.
God keeps reminding me of this passion of mine every day.
Philippians 2:1-11
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
How would we relate differently to others if instead of seeking (demanding) that they encourage us, comfort us, and love us, instead we lived to encourage, comfort and love others because we already have Christ’s encouragement, comfort and love?
Our flesh objects, “That’s not fair. I’ll only give like that if the other person is willing to give the same amount!”
I’m eternally grateful that Christ did not think like that. If he had, then I’d still be dead in my sins, because he would not have chosen to die for my sins.
